2-1-1 Answer Please! (D.C.)

  • The District of Columbia’s 2-1-1 call center is co-located with 3-1-1 and 9-1-1 in the Office of Unified Communications.
  • 2-1-1 service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
  • 3-1-1 is the public information number used during emergencies,  but operators are cross-trained to handle  2-1-1 calls.  
  • 2-1-1 operators in DC have access to a database of health and human service database for Maryland and Virginia through a shared software platform that is supported by the United Way National Capital Area.
  • 2-1-1 was used for Family Reunification and Mass Care during the 58th Presidential Inauguration.
